Constitution Day and Citizenship Day

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is celebrated on September 17th. This was the day in 1787 when the constitution was signed.

Welcome

Constitution Day is September 17th and PSC Library is celebrating by sharing this collection of resources about the most important document in American history. Our collection of primary sources, books, and websites provide our patrons with a plethora of information about the Constitution and the rights it guarantees to every citizen of the United States. Our materials in this guide will educate our patrons about the Constitution. They can learn about its creation, the works that inspired it, the amendments and their effects on our society. We’ve also included information and materials regarding asylum, citizenship and voting, three of the major tenets of the Constitution and vital elements of the structure of our democracy.
Along with this LibGuide is a display of materials and resources related to Constitution Day in the Library. Come on down to the PSC Library this month and take a look at what we have for the celebration of our country’s founding document.

Where can I visit historical sites?

Our Constitutions, both national and state, weren't written in secret locations. In fact, you can visit the locations where they were drafted, argued over, revised, amended, and signed, and for free! You can actually be in the room where it happened!
We've shared some of the many places you can visit if you're curious about our founding documents, and information about other historic sites in our country and state. Come see our display in the Library to find out more.
