PSC Library staff are collecting resources for faculty to consider and utilize when converting a face-to-face course to an online course.

Adding PSC Library Resources to D2L

  1. Start at PSC Library's homepage: http://library.prairiestate.edu
  2. Enter your keywords, or search terms, into the search box and click the search button

     
  3. Click the title of the item you would like to link to:
    title is under the resource type
     
  4. Once in the item record, click the Permalink icon in the "send to" section":

     
  5.  Click the "Copy the permalink to clipboard" to copy the link.

  1. From within your D2L module, click New, then click Create a Link: (or if you are in the new mode, click Create New then click on Web Link and follow the instructions and image from #2 below)

     
  2. Enter a title name into the Title box. Paste the Permalink in the URL box. Ensure the Open as an External Resource box is checked. Click Create
    Enter a title, paste the Permalink, check the box, and click "Create."

 

  1. Start at the PSC's Library homepage: http://library.prairiestate.edu
  2. Click All Databases:

     
  3. Click F and then choose Films on Demand:

     
  4. Enter your search terms to find a relevant video:

     
  5. Once you find a video, click the Share link: 

     
  6. Click Embed/Link

     
  7. Click Copy next to the Record URL:

     
  8. In your D2L module, click New, then click Create a Link:

     
  9. Add a title to the Title box. Paste the Record URL in the URL box. Click Open as an External Resource. Click Create:
  1. Go to PSC Library's homepage: http://library.prairiestate.edu
  2. Click All Databases:

     
  3. Click Alexander Street Press Video Collection:

  4. Type your keywords, or search terms, into the search box and click the search icon:

  5. Once you have found a relevant video, click Share and then Copy Permalink:
    Find a video, click share, then copy permalink
    click "copy"
     
  6. Go to the OpenAthens link generator page: https://go.openathens.net/generate/prairiestate.edu/70287526
     
  7. Paste the copied URL into the Enter Target Link box. Then click Generate and copy the Redirector link:
    Go to the OpenAthens link generator, paste copied URL in Target Link field, click generate, then copy the generated redirector link
     
  8. In your D2L module, click New, and then click Create a Link:

  9. Add a title in the Title box. Paste the generated redirector link in the URL box. Ensure Open as an External Resource is clicked. Click Create:
