Election 2022

This guide provides information to help you make your voting choices.

Check Your Registration

Before Election Day, make sure you're registered to vote!

To check if you're already registered to vote in Illinois, use the Illinois Voter Registration Lookup database.

If you are not registered, you can use the Illinois Online Voter Registration Application to register online until October 23rd. In order to register to vote online, you will need an Illinois state driver's license or state ID.

If it is after October 23rd or you do not have an Illinois state driver's license or state ID, you will need to register in-person. To do this:

  1. Find a Grace Period registration site in your jurisdiction using the Illinois State Board of Elections look-up.
  2. Bring two forms of identification, one of which lists your current address. The Cook County Clerk's office has examples of acceptable ID online.

If you are a resident of Indiana, you can find registration and voting information on the Indiana Voters site.

Make a Voting Plan

Once you have registered to vote, make a plan to vote, either in-person or by mail.

You can find information on voting sites, hours, and options for early voting on your local election authority's website.
